At Kortrijk Xpo, we do not see sustainability as a trend, but as a clear responsibility. When it comes to safety, we take all necessary measures to comply with current legislation and guidelines. The safety of our visitors and employees remains an absolute priority.
Our green commitment
Our ambition is clear: to become carbon neutral by 2035. That’s why we are making targeted investments in innovative solutions and sustainable infrastructure across our campus.
- For heating—and even cooling—our halls, we increasingly rely on sustainable technologies, including software-controlled, energy-efficient heat pumps.
- Traditional lighting has been replaced with LED technology, resulting in significant energy savings.
- Thanks to new façade structures and high-performance glazing, we have optimized the insulation of our buildings.
- We have also installed solar panels on the roofs of three halls, generating peak power comparable to that of a small residential area.
Proud VCDO laureate
Not only exhibitors and visitors appreciate Kortrijk Xpo’s sustainability efforts, they are also recognised for their value by VOKA (the Flemish network of enterprises). In both 2024 and 2025, Kortrijk Xpo obtained the VOKA Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship. The “VCDO” provides companies with a framework to turn their sustainability ambitions into practice.

A continuous focus on safety
Safety is and remains a key priority at Kortrijk Xpo. Every day, we make significant efforts to create a worry-free environment for our suppliers, visitors and staff. Through targeted investments in equipment and the expertise of our teams, we ensure that every event takes place in the safest possible conditions.
We have a mobile first aid unit and continuously optimise our emergency procedures. Our technical teams regularly undergo training and drills, for example in fire safety and first aid, enabling them to respond appropriately at all times. Our safety handbook is continuously reviewed and updated. Wherever possible, we communicate clearly about current guidelines and standards.
