Kortrijk Xpo achieves VCDO for the 10th consecutive year

We are proud to once again be recognized as a laureate of the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship (VCDO), marking our 10th consecutive year receiving this distinction.

The VCDO recognizes companies that embed sustainable entrepreneurship into their day-to-day operations through concrete actions and measurable objectives. At Kortrijk Xpo, sustainability is much more than a buzzword. It is reflected not only in our venue and infrastructure, but also in the way we collaborate and organize our activities. Every year, the exhibitions and events industry faces new challenges, and we strive to translate these into tangible initiatives and actions. Over the past year, we have placed a strong focus on safety, both for our employees and for organizers, exhibitors and visitors to our venue. In an industry where regulations regarding (fire) safety, prevention and wellbeing are constantly evolving, we actively invest in clear communication, awareness-raising and targeted training programs for all our employees.

We have also taken further steps towards diversity, inclusion and education. Through guest lectures, exhibition visits and workplace learning initiatives, students were able to discover this dynamic industry and gain valuable hands-on experience. Circular thinking also plays an important role in our approach. We donate food surpluses from trade fairs to local food banks, continuously work to reduce waste streams, and give outdated IT equipment a second life through an internal marketplace for employees. Internally, we encourage sustainable thinking through newsletters, practical tips and initiatives that are accessible to all Xpozans.

This recognition confirms that sustainable impact is created through many focused actions that reinforce one another. Thanks to the commitment of our employees, we can continue building an organization that creates value not only today but also tomorrow for our visitors, exhibitors, organizers and Xpozans. An achievement we are extremely proud of!
